When soils are tight or the water table sits high, we design an engineered mound instead of forcing a conventional field.

Why the Field Matters Most

• It carries the load. Effluent leaves the tank clarified but not clean, and the soil under the field finishes the treatment before water reaches groundwater.
• It reflects the soil. A perc test tells us how fast your ground drains, which sets the trench length so the field is neither undersized nor overbuilt.
• It protects the well. Proper setbacks keep the field the required distance from a private well, a detail that matters on rural lots near Orrington and Hermon.

Our Process

We evaluate the failing field or the raw site, run a perc test, and confirm the drainfield size the county will permit. From there we set the distribution box, lay level trenches or chambers over washed stone, cover the run with geotextile fabric, and backfill and grade so the surface sheds water. A mound system adds a sand fill bed when vertical separation to the water table falls short.
